Fairtrade School

St. William’s – Fighting For Fairtrade!

Fairtrade is important to our school community.

St. William’s Primary has a ‘Fairtrade Steering Group’ which meets regularly across the term. The group is made up of children from each class, parents and staff. We even have our own Fairtrade Policy which you can view in the school policies section of our website.

The Fairtrade Steering Group promotes Fairtrade in a variety ways including visits, assemblies and practical activities such as cookery and publishes newsletters to keep us all updated. Some of the activities can be seen in the photos below. We recently held a Fairtrade assembly and coffee morning for parents where Class 2 won the prize in our Fairtrade baking competition.

We have worked hard to achieve our ‘Fairtrade School’ status and we will continue to support the work of Fairtrade in our school.
